3689. 'GF 81' Ring camera

Micro camera by Ferro (Buttrio-Udine ) Italian subminiature gold plated camera worn on the finger like a large ring. Produced 1981. High precision construction. 6 speed shutter 1/30 t0 1/500 sec & B. 10mm. f2 focusing lens. Six pictures 4.5 x 6mm. on 25mm dia. disc film. Packed in the original numbered cylindrical wooden box with it's detachable viewfinder. Literature: Pritchard & St Denny 1993 'Spy Camera. A Century of Detective and Subminiature Cameras ' p. 115. In 1981 a series of 20 only numbered 1-20 were made. This example is no. 18 from that first series. From 1983-87 another series numbered up to 53 were made and a modified black series of 32 called the G84 were made numbered from 54 -85. One of this last series sold for £4465 including premium at Christie's London Saleroom in March 2003.

Made by Feinwerktechnik of Germany c.1959, for 10 x 14 mm exposures on 16mm film in special cassettes. (both included with 16mm double perforated film) metal focal plane shutter with speeds from 1/30 to 1/1000 sec and 'B', focusing Color-Ennit 20mm f/2.8 lens with stops to f/16 and sliding filter mount. With makers presentation box, guarantee card and instructions. Faint spotting of finish in places but generally excellent, shutter operates, lens looks excellent.

5234. Mamiya 16 EE subminiature camera

Manufactured by Mamiya Camera Company of Tokyo, early 1960's, the last of the 16mm Mamiyas due to difficulty in film supplies. 20 exposures 10 x 14 mm. on 16mm. film in special cassettes. Lens: Mamiya Sekor 25mm f/2.8 with aperture adjustable to f16. Match needle exposure meter and swivelling bright frame finder. Built-in sliding yellow filter. Finish slightly darkened in parts on top else excellent, apparently working. With wrist strap.
