5969. Sanderson hand and stand camera
Quarter plate version of the famous universal movement camera by George Houghton & Son London An unusual variation with black finished internal wood parts and clear lacquered brass, The black models usually have polished nickel, chrome or silver plated metalwork. The original red bellows have been black stained. Fitted with an Agfa Solinear f4.5/13.5cm. lens in a dial set Compur shutter 1 to 1/200 sec. B. T. Morocco covered exterior. In a repaired leather case with four double dark slides. Lacks baseboard viewfinder. Condition: The lacquer, bellows and general condition is clean and excellent. The body has a few tiny screw holes on one side (probably for a viewfinder) as shown in the photo. The shutter works on all speeds but slowly on the slow speeds. Lens is clean and clear.
